"A Message from Arkansas State Regent, Mary Lee Schultz... "

Welcome to the website of Arkansas State Society Daughters of the American Revolution (ASDAR), a part of National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) with headquarters in Washington, D.C.

NSDAR was founded on October 11, 1890, and incorporated in 1896 by an Act of Congress. It currently has over 160,000 members with 3,000 chapters scattered in all 50 states and Washington, D.C., and has international chapters in 11 countries. Almost 900,000 women have joined NSDAR since its inception. (To learn more about NSDAR, visit our National website at www.dar.org or call (202) 628-1776.)

ASDAR’s first State Regent Mrs. C. R. Breckenridge served this organization in 1893. Through its members our Society has served “God, Home, and Country” (NSDAR National Motto) continuously since that date through the past administration of Honorary State Regent Fern Taylor and into today. Our current National Theme of “The Spirit of Hospitality Opens Doors of Opportunity” reflects our commitment to extend membership to those women, 18 years of age or older, who are lineally descended from an individual who served the cause of American freedom during the American Revolutionary War, and through them serve our communities.

As Daughters our focus remains on Historic Preservation, Education, and Patriotism, the initial objectives of NSDAR. These aims are accomplished through promoting historical sites and materials; scholarships, public and private school programs; and recognition of important individuals (particularly our veterans) who have worked toward preservation of our freedoms, important dates (Constitution Week, Veterans’ Day, Flag Day, National Day of Prayer, Independence Day, etc.)

NSDAR is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women’s service organization. We look forward to serving you, our communities, and our country with God’s help. If you are interested in membership, we welcome you to contact us.
