Chapter History

The John McAlmont Chapter was the first DAR chapter in Pine Bluff and third in the state of Arkansas. The chapter was named in honor of the Organizing Regent's Great-Grandfather, Lieutenant John McAlmont. He joined the 3rd Battalion of Bucks County Associators in Pennsylvania during the Revolution, receiving 1600 acres bounty land in Steuben County, New York for his service.

who achieved American Independence."

"To promote, as an object of primary importance, institutions

for the general diffusion of knowledge."

Patriotic:

"To cherish, maintain, and extend the institution of American freedom,

to foster true patriotism and love of country, and to aid in securing

for mankind all the blessings of liberty."
