Chapter History
The Mine Creek Chapter was organized April 16, 1960, under the direction
of Miss Virginia Buxton. The name was chosen because of the major creek running through Howard County and the city of Nashville. The original Post Office was called Mine Creek. There were 22 charter members. The Genealogy Room in the Howard County Public Library is the main project of the chapter. The Paraclifta Chapter was organized October 9, 1969, with Mrs.
Nathan Halliday as organizing regent. The chapter celebrated its 25th
Anniversary in 1994.
The two chapters combined into one, based in Nashville, Arkansas, in 2008.
