Chapter History
Our chapter was named for the life-saving Saline River that Hernando DeSoto
and his men discovered when they had run out of salt in this area. DeSoto called the river "la Provincia de La Salle"; the Province
of Salt. Several of our members have served as State and District Officers. The DeSoto Trail Society, C.A.R., is sponsored by the chapter.
The chapter meets NSDAR objectives with an emphasis on preserving history, genealogy, acknowledging our veterans, promoting youth,
community/volunteer service, giving many U.S. Flags, and conservation.
