Welcome to the Frederick Van Patten Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, chartered in Searcy, Arkansas!
On March 10, 2012, seventeen women met at 11:00 A.M. in the Wesley Room of First United Methodist Church in Searcy, AR for an organizational meeting of a new chapter of the DAR. Organizing Regent, ReBecca Van Patten Smith opened the meeting and Susan Hammons, acting as Chaplin, read a DAR prayer. ReBecca led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance and the American Creed. The appointed officers were named; Organizing Regent, Rebecca Van Patten Smith; Vice Regent, Susan Hammons; Treasurer, Deena Reynolds; Corresponding and Recording Secretary, Mary Kay Van Patten James; Registrar, Susan Wilson; Chaplin, Janie Quarles.

At a called meeting on April 21, 2012, another meeting was held in the Wesley Room to hear that NSDAR had given the chapter its first choice for the chapter name, Frederick Van Patten Chapter.
May 12, 2012, was the first confirmed Frederick Van Patten Chapter meeting with twenty-three organizing members present. New projects included Searcy Public Schools, the Searcy VA Clinic, American Flag etiquette and conservation.
As of April, 2017, there were seventy members.
The Frederick Van Patten Chapter meets in Searcy, Arkansas at 10:00 A.M. on the second Saturday each month from September to May.
