We welcome you to read about Strawberry River Chapter, NSDAR.
Strawberry River Chapter was organized in Horseshoe Bend, Izard County, in 1979. Horseshoe Bend is the only city in Arkansas that includes land from three counties, Fulton, Izard, and Sharp, within its city limits. Strawberry River, our namesake, flows through all three counties.
The chapter has been proud to embody the objectives of DAR for over forty years by supporting area Veterans in a variety of projects; working with local schools to encourage citizenship and patriotism; and providing students with information to pursue educational opportunities through scholarships. Members have volunteered time at the Northeast Arkansas Archives located at Powhatan to assist with the preservation of historic documents for future generations.
The future is bright for Strawberry River Chapter. Continued growth in membership enables the chapter members to make a difference in their communities as they support the goals of DAR while honoring their patriots, whose legacies they celebrate.
Organizational History
